Using the Old NASCAR Points Only System, How Would the Standings Look?
By Richard Tix
As always, the season has ended and NASCAR has a ton of controversy over its Champion. So, even though I am a fan of the Chase, I have always also enjoyed the straight up points style as well. I tend not to fight the Chase because it has been 11 years of the Chase (two of the new era), so I doubt it's going back.
But, for arguments sake, here is how the standings would shake out under just a points system. Now, this is still 2015 points style (NASCAR has changed its point scoring many times over the years), but no Chase. Just heads up points.
